SaRodorick Thompson 2005 RB
SaRodorick Thompson: Joining Dallas
5h agoThompson was signed to the Cowboys' practice squad Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Thompson was let go by the Seahawks in early December and will now join the Cowboys' practice unit prior to Week 18. The 24-year-old will provide Dallas with an additional running back option heading into the postseason.

Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson LAR CB
Rams' Tre Tomlinson: Returns to practice Wednesday
7h agoTomlinson (hamstring) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
A hamstring injury has sidelined Tomlinson for each of Los Angeles' past two games, but the defensive back appears to be doing better given his ability to practice in full to open Week 18 prep. Tomlinson has worked primarily in a special-teams role this season, but he may see additional work on defense against San Francisco on Sunday if he's able to suit up since Rams head coach Sean McVay has indicated that the team will be resting multiple starters on both offense and defense.
-
Artie Burns SEA CB
Seahawks' Artie Burns: Full practice Wednesday
7h agoBurns (knee) was a full participant at the Seahawks' practice Wednesday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
Burns suffered a knee injury in the second half of the team's Week 17 loss to the Steelers, but he now appears ready to go for Sunday's regular season finale versus the Cardinals. The 28-year-old will be back in his extreme depth role in Seattle's secondary for their must-win Week 18 contest.
-
Bobby Brown III LAR DT
Rams' Bobby Brown: Logs full practice Wednesday
7h agoBrown (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Brown hurt his knee in Sunday's Week 17 win over the Giants and had to exit the contest early. However, his ability to practice in full to begin Week 18 prep suggests that the injury isn't a serious concern. As such, Brown is likely to be able to suit up in Sunday's regular-season finale versus San Francisco.

Tyrone Wheatley Jr. NE OT
Patriots' Tyrone Wheatley: Practice window expires
7h agoWheatley (knee) won't be activated off injured reserve this week, Dakota Randall of NESN.com reports.
Whetley had his 21-day practice window expire Wednesday about being designated to return from IR on Dec. 13, leaving him sidelined for Sunday's regular season finale versus the Jets. The offensive lineman appeared in two games this season with New England and he'll now set his sights on earning a roster spot with the team for their 2024 campaign.
-
Wes Schweitzer NYJ OG
Jets' Wes Schweitzer: Designated to return from IR
7h agoThe Jets designated Schweitzer (calf) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, and he was a limited participant in practice, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
Schweitzer has had two stints on injured reserve this season due to a calf injury. The Jets have only one more game left this season and have already been eliminated from playoff contention, so Schweitzer's designation to return Wednesday may mean that the teams intends for him to suit up Sunday versus New England. If that happens, it would be just the seventh game he has played on the campaign.

Starling Marte NYM RF
Mets' Starling Marte: Making debut in winter ball
12h agoMarte (groin) is making his Dominican Winter League debut Wednesday with Leones del Escogido, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.
Marte has been practicing with the club and is now in its lineup for the first time, batting second and playing right field. It will be the 35-year-old's first game action since Aug. 5, as his season ended prematurely due to a nagging right groin injury. Marte was considered healthy heading into the offseason, but playing some winter ball should provide him and the Mets with some peace of mind heading into spring training, assuming he has no setbacks. He was limited to only 86 games in 2023, producing a career-low .625 OPS.

Justin Bruihl COL RP
Reds' Justin Bruihl: Gets NRI from Reds
13h agoBruihl signed a minor-league contract with the Reds on Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training.
Bruihl held a 5.46 ERA over 27 relief appearances between the Dodgers and Rockies in 2023 and has posted a 4.22 ERA and 46:24 K:BB across 70.1 frames over parts of three major-league seasons. The 26-year-old lefty will try to win a bullpen job with Cincinnati but is likely to begin 2024 at Triple-A Louisville.
-
Mauricio Llovera BOS RP
Red Sox's Mauricio Llovera: Exits 40-man roster
15h agoLlovera was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Wednesday.
A 40-man roster move was needed in order to add Lucas Giolito, and Llovera is the casualty. Llovera, 27, collected a 5.46 ERA over 25 appearances with the Red Sox in 2023 and holds a career 5.80 mark across 54 outings at the major-league level spanning parts of four seasons.
-
Bryan Hudson MIL RP
Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Acquired by Milwaukee
16h agoThe Brewers acquired Hudson from the Dodgers on Wednesday in exchange for Justin Chambers and a player to be named later or cash considerations, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Hudson had been designated for assignment a week ago and is now headed to the National League Central. The big left-hander struggled in a cup of coffee with Los Angeles in 2023 but held a 2.43 ERA and 86:26 K:BB across 55.2 relief innings at Triple-A Oklahoma City.
-
Ronny Mauricio NYM 2B
Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Undergoes ACL surgery
19h agoMauricio underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a torn ACL in his right knee.
Mauricio suffered the injury last month while playing in the Dominican Winter League. Per the Mets, a typical timeline for a return to game action from this procedure is 8-to-12 months, which would indicate the young infielder could be out until September even in a best-case scenario. Mauricio had been slated to compete for the third base job with the Mets, but the bulk of those duties now figure to fall to Brett Baty.
-
Tucker Barnhart CHC C
Diamondbacks' Tucker Barnhart: Gets NRI deal from Arizona
1d agoBarnhart signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Tuesday and received an invitation to major-league spring training.
Barnhart slashed .202/.285/.257 with nine RBI across 123 plate appearances with the Cubs last season before being DFA'd and finishing the year with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate. With Gabriel Moreno virtually locked in as Arizona's everyday catcher, Barnhart will compete with Jose Herrera in the spring for the backup job.
-
Grayson Allen PHO SG
Suns' Grayson Allen: Adds to double-digit scoring streak
27m agoAllen closed Wednesday's 131-122 loss to the Clippers with 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals across 32 minutes.
Allen just managed to hit the 10-point mark in the victory, giving him 11 straight double-digit scoring performances. He's had to be efficient to maintain that stretch of late, as he's averaging a modest 7.8 field-goal attempts over his past five contests. Allen is shooting 59.0 percent from the field during that stretch, including 47.6 percent from beyond the arc, and he's averaging 12.8 points, 3.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 2.0 triples and 1.2 thefts over that span to hang onto some end-of-roster fantasy value.
-
Bradley Beal PHO SG
Suns' Bradley Beal: Records 21 points in loss
32m agoBeal amassed 21 points (7-20 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 7-7 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals across 41 minutes during Wednesday's 131-122 loss to the Clippers.
Beal struggled with his stroke -- especially from deep -- Wednesday, but fantasy managers who roster him can be encouraged by the fact that he took a team-high 20 shots. The veteran guard has struggled to stay on the court this season, which has unsurprisingly affected his rhythm, as he's shooting only 32.4 percent from three-point range through 10 contests. That's on pace for the second-lowest mark of his career, and his 16.1 points per game is also well below his norm, though Beal has plenty of time to turn things around now that he's healthy.
-
Devin Booker PHO SG
Suns' Devin Booker: Pours in 35 points in loss
38m agoBooker amassed 35 points (11-15 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 8-9 FT), two rebounds and six assists over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 131-122 loss to the Clippers.
Booker's team-leading point total came on a very efficient 11-for-15 line that included a 5-for-8 mark from deep. The five triples tied a season high for the star guard, and it's a mark he's hit twice over his past four games. Despite Wednesday's loss, Booker's performance was a nice bounce-back from the 10-point, 4-for-16 outing he recorded against Portland on New Year's Day in his previous outing.
-
James Harden LAC PG
Clippers' James Harden: Hands out 11 dimes in double-double
42m agoHarden provided 22 points (7-13 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, 11 assists and one block over 36 minutes during Wednesday's 131-122 win over the Suns.
Harden has really picked up the pace as a passer of late, notching double-digit assists in three straight games for the first time this season. Over that span, he's averaging a double-double with 17.7 points, 11.3 dimes, 4.3 boards, 3.0 three-pointers, 2.0 blocks and 0.3 steals over 37.0 minutes. It look a little while for the Clippers to click after Harden came over from Philadelphia, but the team is excelling now, winning 18 of its past 23 games.
-
Paul George LAC SF
Clippers' Paul George: Posts team-leading 33 points
1h agoGeorge accumulated 33 points (8-14 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 12-14 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 131-122 win over Phoenix.
George recorded his first game of 30-plus points since Nov. 24, with nearly half of his tally Wednesday coming from beyond the arc. The veteran forward has knocked down multiple triples in 15 straight contests and is averaging 3.3 three-pointers per game on the season, eighth-most in the NBA. George has been efficient from deep, shooting 40.2 percent from long range after shooting 37.1 percent from that distance last season.
-
Kawhi Leonard LAC SF
Clippers' Kawhi Leonard: Shines on both ends of court
1h agoLeonard posted 30 points (9-16 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 8-8 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals across 40 minutes during Wednesday's 131-122 victory over the Suns.
Leonard and Paul George combined for 63 points in the win, with the former logging 30 points in just his second game back from a four-game absence due to a hip injury. Leonard's defensive effort paid dividends as well, as he recorded his first performance this year with multiple steals and multiple blocks. The star forward has scored at least 24 points in nine straight games, and over that stretch he's averaging 31.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 3.0 three-pointers, 1.7 steals and 0.8 blocks while shooting 61.3 percent from the field and 94.7 percent from the charity stripe.

Jamie Drysdale ANA D
Ducks' Jamie Drysdale: Slides shorthanded helper
3h agoDrysdale posted a shorthanded assist, two shots on goal and four PIM in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.
Drysdale has two points over six contests since he returned from a lower-body injury. The defenseman has shuffled around the lineup a bit, but he's firmly in a top-four role. Playing for the Ducks will likely keep his plus-minus down, but he's also blocked 13 shots since his return as he does his part in the defensive zone. Drysdale has four points, 15 shots on net, 14 blocks and a minus-1 rating through eight appearances.
-
Mason McTavish ANA C
Ducks' Mason McTavish: Earns shorthanded assist
3h agoMcTavish notched a shorthanded assist, three shots on goal and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.
A 4-on-4 situation became a Toronto power play while the Ducks had possession, and McTavish was able to feed Frank Vatrano for the opening goal. With four helpers over six contests since returning from an upper-body injury, McTavish has done alright, but he hasn't quite found the same level he was at before his absence. The 20-year-old is up to 25 points (six on the power play, two shorthanded) with 76 shots on net, 20 blocked shots, 36 PIM and a minus-11 rating over 30 appearances. He remains a top-six fixture for the Ducks.
-
Frank Vatrano ANA RW
Ducks' Frank Vatrano: Scores shortie in overtime loss
3h agoVatrano scored a shorthanded goal on five shots, doled out two hits and added two PIM in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.
Vatrano scored for the fourth time in five games, cashing in on possession right after a 4-on-4 situation turned into a Toronto power play. The tally was Vatrano's second shortie of the season. He's up to 18 goals, nine assists, 127 shots on net, 66 hits, 40 blocked shots, 45 PIM and a minus-8 rating through 37 appearances. The 29-year-old has mainly played on the Ducks' second line, a role that has him on track for a second straight career year.
-
Lukas Dostal ANA G
Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Sets franchise record
3h agoDostal stopped 55 of 57 shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.
The 55 saves were a franchise record and a career high for Dostal. Despite the heroic goaltending effort, he ended up with a third straight defeat, as penalties came back to bite the Ducks in the third period. John Tavares cashed in the equalizer on a power play, and Auston Matthews won the game in overtime. Dostal is down to 6-8-1 with a 3.53 GAA and a .901 save percentage over 16 appearances. He's gone five outings (four starts) without allowing more than three goals, but playing behind the Ducks' young defense continues to be tough sledding for the 23-year-old.
-
William Nylander TOR RW
Maple Leafs' William Nylander: Supplies power-play helper
3h agoNylander registered a power-play assist and eight shots on goal in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Ducks.
Nylander helped out on John Tavares' game-tying goal in the third period. Since the start of December, Nylander has earned 23 points, including seven on the power play, over 15 contests. The 27-year-old continues to exceed expectations in a contract year. He's up to 51 points (18 on the power play) with 158 shots on net and a plus-3 rating through 36 outings overall.
-
Mitchell Marner TOR RW
Maple Leafs' Mitchell Marner: Sets up game-winner
3h agoMarner registered an assist and seven shots on goal in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Ducks.
Marner's been in a bit of a rough patch by his standard with five points and a minus-3 rating over his last eight games. The 26-year-old made a key contribution in this contest, setting up Auston Matthews' 30th goal of the campaign, which was the game-winner. Marner is up to 14 tallies, 25 helpers, 89 shots on net, 29 blocked shots, 24 hits and a plus-4 rating through 36 appearances in a top-six role this season.
