McTavish notched a shorthanded assist, three shots on goal and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.

A 4-on-4 situation became a Toronto power play while the Ducks had possession, and McTavish was able to feed Frank Vatrano for the opening goal. With four helpers over six contests since returning from an upper-body injury, McTavish has done alright, but he hasn't quite found the same level he was at before his absence. The 20-year-old is up to 25 points (six on the power play, two shorthanded) with 76 shots on net, 20 blocked shots, 36 PIM and a minus-11 rating over 30 appearances. He remains a top-six fixture for the Ducks.

Tavares scored a power-play goal on seven shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Ducks.

On the Maple Leafs' 50th shot of the game, Tavares finally broke through Lukas Dostal to tie the game at 1-1. Over his last six games, Tavares has three goals, one assist and 26 shots. The center is up to 33 points (10 on the power play), 140 shots on net, 42 hits and a plus-2 rating through 36 appearances in a second-line role.

Matthews scored a goal on 13 shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Ducks.

Matthews' point streak ended Saturday versus the Hurricanes, turning into just his fourth multi-game drought of the campaign. He was a man on a mission Wednesday and finally cashed in his last of a season-high 13 shots at 2:12 of overtime. The tally got him to 30 on the season, the first player in the league to reach that mark. He's added 15 assists, 159 shots, 48 blocked shots, 38 hits and a plus-7 rating through 35 appearances.

Fabbri boasts a team-high shooting percentage (26.5), and with nine goals and seven assists through 26 games, he's matched his point total from an injury-shortened 2022-23 campaign.

Fabbri has already worked his way past three ACL surgeries, and this season he's sustained less severe injuries to his lower body and face, but the poster boy for perseverance hasn't missed a game in close to two months. Fabbri's banked three game-winning goals and he skates on the No. 2 power-play unit as an added bonus for fantasy managers looking for a productive scorer on a per-minute basis. The veteran winger is producing 2.7 points per 60 minutes of play, which is a career high through nine years of service time.

Strome is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and won't play Wednesday versus the Maple Leafs.

Strome was limited to 12:36 of ice time Sunday versus the Oilers, but no injury was reported at the time. In his absence, Adam Henrique is expected to join the top six while Isac Lundestrom (Achilles) will make his season debut.

Karlsson was called up from AHL Abbotsford on Wednesday.

Karlsson has made three NHL appearances this season, picking up four shots on goal, three hits, two blocked shots and a plus-1 rating. His promotion would suggest that Phil Di Giuseppe (undisclosed) is questionable or worse for the Canucks' upcoming seven-game road trip.

Vatrano scored a shorthanded goal on five shots, doled out two hits and added two PIM in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.

Vatrano scored for the fourth time in five games, cashing in on possession right after a 4-on-4 situation turned into a Toronto power play. The tally was Vatrano's second shortie of the season. He's up to 18 goals, nine assists, 127 shots on net, 66 hits, 40 blocked shots, 45 PIM and a minus-8 rating through 37 appearances. The 29-year-old has mainly played on the Ducks' second line, a role that has him on track for a second straight career year.

Nylander registered a power-play assist and eight shots on goal in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Ducks.

Nylander helped out on John Tavares' game-tying goal in the third period. Since the start of December, Nylander has earned 23 points, including seven on the power play, over 15 contests. The 27-year-old continues to exceed expectations in a contract year. He's up to 51 points (18 on the power play) with 158 shots on net and a plus-3 rating through 36 outings overall.

Marner registered an assist and seven shots on goal in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Ducks.

Marner's been in a bit of a rough patch by his standard with five points and a minus-3 rating over his last eight games. The 26-year-old made a key contribution in this contest, setting up Auston Matthews' 30th goal of the campaign, which was the game-winner. Marner is up to 14 tallies, 25 helpers, 89 shots on net, 29 blocked shots, 24 hits and a plus-4 rating through 36 appearances in a top-six role this season.

Mantha earned a power-play assist in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Devils.

Mantha has 11 goals and seven assists through 32 games, putting him on pace for his best season as a member of the Capitals, and within reach of the back-to-back 48-point campaigns that he provided for the Red Wings between 2017-19. With T.J. Oshie (lower body) and Nicklas Backstrom (hip) both on injured reserve, the Capitals really need Mantha to elevate his game and he seems up for the challenge this time around.

Bastian recorded an assist in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Capitals.

The Devils were in control for basically the entire game, with fourth-line winger Bastian even getting in on the action. He's scored one goal to go along with five helpers through 34 contests. New Jersey ranks seventh in the league at 3.46 goals per game, but Bastian simply doesn't play enough to warrant consideration in fantasy leagues.

Palat (lower body) was injured in Tuesday's practice and is expected to miss a few more games, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Palat was a surprise scratch for Wednesday's contest versus the Capitals. Based on head coach Lindy Ruff's postgame comments, Palat shouldn't be expected to play in the Devils' upcoming back-to-back versus the Blackhawks and Canucks on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The winger's absence was covered by Colin Miller on Wednesday, but forward Graeme Clarke is also an option to enter the lineup during Palat's absence.

Drysdale posted a shorthanded assist, two shots on goal and four PIM in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.

Drysdale has two points over six contests since he returned from a lower-body injury. The defenseman has shuffled around the lineup a bit, but he's firmly in a top-four role. Playing for the Ducks will likely keep his plus-minus down, but he's also blocked 13 shots since his return as he does his part in the defensive zone. Drysdale has four points, 15 shots on net, 14 blocks and a minus-1 rating through eight appearances.

Rielly posted two assists, four shots on goal and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Ducks.

Rielly helped out on both of the Maple Leafs' goals as they pulled off a comeback win. He has nine helpers, including five on the power play, over the last nine games. The defenseman was projected for a down season in 2023-24, but he's been at his usual level with 29 points (10 on the power play), 86 shots on net, 76 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 36 outings. He's on pace to exceed 60 points for the third time in his 11-year career.

Hughes provided a power-play assist in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Capitals.

Hughes stretched his point streak to four games with a man-advantage helper that led to the second goal of the night for captain Nico Hischier. The Devils boast the league's best power-play percentage, converting 30.3 percent of their opportunities, and Hughes is a big reason why they've been so successful. Hughes has seven goals and 15 assists, including 11 points on the power play, through 36 games this season.

Sergachev (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, per CapFriendly.

Sergachev has been out since Dec. 21, and he'll finally land on injured reserve, presumably to give the Lightning an extra roster spot. The team is dealing with an injury crisis on the blue line, as Erik Cernak (upper body) and Haydn Fleury (hand) are also unavailable. Sergachev can be activated whenever he is available to play.

Gudas (illness) won't play Wednesday versus the Maple Leafs.

Gudas had just returned from an ankle injury Sunday, but now he'll be back out of the lineup. Jackson LaCombe will check in alongside Cam Fowler in the top four, bumping Jamie Drysdale down to Gudas' usual second-pairing spot.

Hunt was recalled from AHL Iowa on Wednesday.

Hunt will take the place of Jared Spurgeon (undisclosed), who was placed on injured reserve. Hunt will likely compete with Jon Merrill for playing time in a bottom-four role.

Dostal stopped 55 of 57 shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.

The 55 saves were a franchise record and a career high for Dostal. Despite the heroic goaltending effort, he ended up with a third straight defeat, as penalties came back to bite the Ducks in the third period. John Tavares cashed in the equalizer on a power play, and Auston Matthews won the game in overtime. Dostal is down to 6-8-1 with a 3.53 GAA and a .901 save percentage over 16 appearances. He's gone five outings (four starts) without allowing more than three goals, but playing behind the Ducks' young defense continues to be tough sledding for the 23-year-old.

Jones stopped 27 of 28 shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Ducks.

Jones played both halves of the Maple Leafs' back-to-back set, and he was solid, allowing one goal on 59 shots across the two contests. His teammates were not sluggish Wednesday, but they were very close to unlucky, scoring just twice on 57 shots. Jones is now 6-3-0 with two shutouts, a 2.20 GAA and a .930 save percentage through 10 outings. Toronto's next game is in San Jose on Saturday.

Jones will protect the road goal against the Ducks on Wednesday, David Alter of Sports Illustrated reports.

Jones made 31 saves in a 3-0 shutout win over the Kings on Tuesday, and he's apparently feeling well enough to play for a second night in a row. The Ducks are a far less formidable opponent, having lost five of their last eight contests while scoring just 19 goals in that span.

Shepard is set to start at home against New Jersey on Wednesday, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.

Shepard stopped 34 of 36 shots in a 3-2 shootout loss to Nashville in his last start Saturday. He's 2-0-1 with a 2.27 GAA and a .926 save percentage in three outings in 2023-24. The Devils are a difficult assignment, ranking seventh offensively this year with 3.46 goals per game.

Lyon is expected to start in Thursday's road game against LA, per Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press.

Lyon has won two of his last three starts, but he's also surrendered 10 goals on 86 shots (.884 save percentage) over that stretch. He's 6-4-0 with a 2.53 GAA and a .917 save percentage in 10 contests this season. The Kings rank 10th offensively this year with 3.38 goals per game, so this might be a difficult matchup for Lyon.

Lindgren (upper body) was put on injured reserve Wednesday, per the NHL media site.

Lindgren was injured last Friday, so this move is presumably retroactive to that date. If that's the case, the 30-year-old goaltender will be eligible to play Sunday versus LA. He's 7-3-3 with a 2.27 GAA and a .928 save percentage in 15 outings in 2023-24.
